Welcome to my blog.
I am a published writer and photographer with well over 15 years experience. This site was started in April 2008 and it will take me a while even to upload a small selection of published and new works for you to look at.
In addition to this site I also have my photographic site at www.jancrane.co.uk which I would encourage you to visit. Here you can see some examples of published work including page shots which relate directly to some of the material on this site.
I have worked for the Daily Mirror, The Independent, and The People as well as their Sunday counterparts in the editorial departments. I have also been published as a freelance photojournalist in a number of trade, commercial and consumer magazines as well we local press.
Current published works and work lodged with magazines will not appear on this site until a month after printed media publication as I want you to buy the magazines the work is in – that’s what puts food on my table!
You will also find sections of un-published work. If you would like to publish my work please contact me as all written works are available and can be supplied with high quality and hi-res images.
The first chapter of my current novel is also on site as a taster as are some other bits and pieces that I thought might make interesting reading.

I take my copyright very seriously so please, if you want to reproduce my work, contact me. I am happy to work with education and charities at considerably reduced rates for production and have been know to let such organisation use my work for no more than a credit – but only IF they ask in advance.
As well as writing and producing the associated photography I also run a commercial photography and graphic design business producing promotional materials for companies and businesses. Contact me for more details – location is not necessarily a barrier to working with me as with modern communications and the overnight courier services I am happy to undertake work from lots of locations.
